fc.kleinstadt are a shoegaze and post-punk band from Baden, Switzerland, whose music captures the tension between youthful rebellion and quiet vulnerability. Their songs move through walls of distorted guitars, driving rhythms and dreamlike passages, oscillating between destruction and tenderness. At the core of their sound lies a deep sense of restlessness: the feeling of growing up in a protected small town, surrounded by expectations, privilege and an unspoken loneliness.

In 2025, fc.kleinstadt recorded their EP Blumen zwischen Büchern at the renowned Toolhouse Studio with producer Hannes Wolf. The EP revolves around what the band describes as an “epidemic of loneliness”: isolation born from social pressure, inherited structures and the emotional distance of small-town life. Yet within this bleakness, the songs allow moments of softness and hope — the quiet belief that a shared we is still possible. The six tracks drift between expansive choruses and intimate, dreamy verses, forming a collective act of resistance against alienation and emotional numbness.

fc.kleinstadt have quickly established themselves as a powerful live act. Their song “normal” was selected among the best demos of the year at the m4music Demotape Clinic, and 2024 saw a series of standout shows, including a sold-out performance at Salzhaus Winterthur, support slots for Team Scheisse and Been Stellar, and their first Austrian appearance at the Liveurope Festival at Posthof Linz. With their raw energy, emotional honesty and uncompromising sound, fc.kleinstadt are part of a new wave of German-speaking bands redefining shoegaze and post-punk — loud, vulnerable and deeply human.
