DIE SAUNA

Die Sauna are a band from Bavaria whose sound sits between dark, minimalist new wave and a more open, melodic warmth. On their third album tut beni, they move away from classic song structures, building tracks around hypnotic loops, sparse vocals and atmospheric sketches. Influenced by bands like DAF and Joy Division, their music balances restraint with emotion, gradually letting themes like love, care and vulnerability come to the surface.

BIO

Die Sauna are a band from Bavaria whose music draws from minimalist new wave, post-punk and psychedelic textures. With their third album tut beni, released on February 27, 2026 via popup-records, they return after a longer break with a record that marks a clear shift in tone and direction. Where their earlier work often felt colder and more distant, tut beni gradually opens up, both musically and emotionally.

The album moves away from classic song structures, focusing instead on repetition, atmosphere and subtle development. Tracks are built around loops, sparse vocals and evolving soundscapes, creating a sense of drift between tension and release. Influences like DAF and Joy Division remain present, but are complemented by warmer elements and a growing sense of vulnerability. Themes of love, care and reassurance become more visible, especially in the later moments of the record.

Since their previous album In die Nacht hinein (2022), Die Sauna have continued to refine their sound, leaning further into reduction and mood. With tut beni, they present their most cohesive work to date — a record that captures a transition: from darkness toward light, from distance toward something more direct and human.
